Asarel-Medet JSC has an Integrated Management System in accordance with four international standards:
- ISO 9001 – Quality Management
- ISO 14001 – Environmental Management
- ISO 45001 – Occupational Health and Safety
- ISO 50001 – Energy Management
The company obtained the first quality management certificate in the mining sector in compliance with ISO 9001 in 1999and in 2002 it also received the first ISO 14001 certificate in for environmental protection the country. It achieved the first certification in the sector under OHSAS 18001 for occupational health and safety in 2003.
Asarel-Medet JSC is the first Bulgarian heavy-industry company to implement an Integrated Management System in 2003 in accordance with the three main international standards for quality, environmental protection and occupational health and safety: ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004, and OHSAS 18001:2007.
In 2018, the company obtained certification for energy management under the ISO 50001international standard.
A transition was made to the ISO 45001 standard for occupational health and safety in 2020.
