We celebrate Miner's Day with a remarkable event dedicated to our employees, associates, partners, friends and guests of the municipality of Panagyurishte. The company’s professional and corporate celebration typically takes place on the last Saturday of August at an outdoor stage in Panagyurski Kolonii bringing together around 5,000 people from the company, nearby towns and villages and across the country. Miner's Day is a celebration for people of all generations uniting the extended Asarel family. The event traditionally includes a kurban ritual feast served for health, a competition formaking the local savory cheese and butte pastry called tutmanik and plenty of entertainments for the youngest attendees.
We participate in the National Miner's Day celebration on August 18 when the Assumption of St. Ivan of Rila, patron saint of miners and all Bulgarians, is honored. This event has been organized since 1991 by the Bulgarian Chamber of Mining and Geology, Scientific and Technical Union of Mining, Geology and Metallurgy and the miners' trade unions. A prayer service for health and well-being is held at the company’s Holy Mother of God – Life-Giving Spring chapel located within the company’s territory on this day.

We celebrated the company’s 60th anniversary together дn Miner’s Day in 2026.
On this occasion, we conferred 160 awards for professionalism and long service. A special tribute was paid to the 36 veterans among our 900 retired colleagues who began their careers at the very start of our history in 1964. Our celebration in the village of Panagyurski Kolonii once again brought together thousands of people and featured plenty of attractions for the youngest guests.

Miner’s Day Is Back
Following a three-year hiatus due to the global coronavirus pandemic, Miner’s Day made a spectacular comeback in 2023 with a dual celebration: the Celebrating Together concert in the center of Panagyurishte featuring beloved performers and local talents, and the Let’s Join the Horo Dance folklore fiesta in the village Panagyurski Kolonii. The Videlina Community Center came to life in a unique 3D mapping show for the first time in front of the crowded 20 April Square.

The half-century anniversart of Asarel-Medet JSC
was honoured in 2015 by hosting a world-famous performer on our stage in Panagyurski Kolonii for the first time. We welcomed rock legend Joe Lynn Turner to commemorate our 50 anniversary only a few days after the Arena Asarel multi-purpose sports hall in Panagyurishte was inaugurated.

First-Class Investor
Asarel-Medet’s 40th anniversary was commemorated by receiving a First-Class Investor Certificate awarded for a large-scale modernization program for mining equipment. The celebrations in 2005 included a series of initiatives, most notably a rock concert in 20 April Square in Panagyurishte, a poetry contest and an outdoor art workshop. The outdoor stage in Panagyurski Kolonii was also constructed during this time.

Miner's Day
The company’s 30th anniversary was celebrated in 1994 at the former House of Culture in the village of Panagyurski Kolonii where a flag bearing the company logo, which remains unchanged to this day, was consecrated. It was also then that the company anthem was created featuring lyrics by Mihail Belchev, music by Toncho Rusev and a performance by Duo Riton.
